1/ Aim of mission
Be the product expert in specific business area & conduct trials and demos specifically aimed at converting competitor business and establishing products in early stage development of customer processes
Be responsible for the technical support and sales development of the range of products & services in specified BA in cooperation with local sales team and management.
The position exists for all business areas and this job description covers all of those except CCM.

2/ Background knowledge and Skills required
Master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry or similar life science disciplines
3-5 years of experience in Life Science Industry in process development
Proven skills of relevant process unit operations in cGMP Bioprocessing
Good Market Knowledge (Customers and Competitors)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
Excellent teamwork skills and proven ability to also work with cross-functional teams without formal authority
Autonomy, Discipline, Focus, Customer Oriented and self-motivated
Good working knowledge with computer tools and programs

3/ Working Conditions
Requires extensive domestic and some international travel for training & meetings

4/ Situation in the structure
Reports to Product Application Manager, China Peer relations are Sales Managers, application specialists for regular business and other functions as needed

5/ Role Summary
Uses technical knowledge to qualify customer needs, assist/support customer requirements and shorten sales cycle
Support customers through hands-on trial support and optimization to enable customers to select the right product and achieve their expected results
Provide technical support to local sales team and help them qualify and close orders through established customer’s technical acceptance of the superiority of our products
Coordinate activities with Sales Reps
Gather and communicate information on customer product pipeline, market trends, applications and competitive activities to global Media Marketing Team
Contribute to the rapid growth and expansion of the portfolio consistent with SSB strategy and goals.

6/ Main Tasks
Conduct trials and demos at customer site to achieve intended results
Collaborate with process specialists to define the scope and acceptance criteria of trials
Build professional trial reports and present to customers
Support sales rep and process specialist to build added value proposals
Feed trial reports to product management and sales reps
Communicate competitor and customer information within the team
Act as a product expert in China

7/ Other
Quality Responsibility Operate with a high degree of professionalism and make high quality trial reports to create a higher technical perception of the company
Safety Responsibility To always act in a responsible manner to avoid risk to self or to the company

8/ Autonomy / Degree of responsibility
The holder of the position is responsible for success rate of trials and to maintain adequate trial samples and demo equipment in good condition

This position holder is a team member and individual contributor. General team working skill in cross-functional team is essential.

Achieve annual sales budgets as defined – both aggregate and business area/segment wise
Conversion of competitor products
Achieve successful acceptance of products in new processes
