Position Overview: The General Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the outdoor brand's operations, including product development, marketing, sales, and customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on driving growth, improving profitability, and ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the brand, aligning with the company's overall objectives.
- Lead and manage the brand's P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Oversee product development, working closely with designers and suppliers to create innovative and marketable products.
- Direct marketing and sales strategies, including digital and traditional channels, to increase brand awareness and sales.
- Manage key customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.
- Ensure exceptional customer service across all channels, maintaining a strong reputation for the brand.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of brand initiatives.
- Represent the brand at industry events and conferences, building relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership role within the outdoor or related industry.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving profitability.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience managing a diverse team and fostering a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of outdoor industry trends and consumer behaviors.
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial reporting.
- Ability to travel as required for the role.
